I will most likely buy a Scalarworks 1.93 now that they make them. Out of all the mounts I have used, they have been the lightest, easiest to install and they still maintaining a zero 100% of the time in My experience. |

I have had my LPVO Mount skip 1 click. I put the smallest amount of red loktite on it I could and it never moved again. I would recommend them highly for Aimpoimts, RMRs, etc..and LPVOs. I use geissele and LaRue for LR/high powered optics. The Scalarworks LPVO Moumts also have an auto leveling screw that DOES perfectly level you optic and that is a very nice feture. I called Scalarworks and they said that their Moumts should never skip even 1 click and asked me to send it back. Since I could fix it myself I did not want to wait on that, but, they did offer a new mount if I sent it in. Long story short. For SHTF, I think Scalarworks is perfect. The return to zero has also worked flawlessly on the 6 Scalarworks Mounts I have. Hope this answers your questions. |

I’ll have to chime in and say the Scalarworks mounts are about as good as they come. I’m using a 1.93” LEAP/06 for my Aimpoint magnifier on one gun, a 1.57” T2 mount on another, and the 1.93” LEAP/07 for my SF Arrowhead 1-10 LPVO on another. They’re all fantastic, and work just the way they should. RTZ for me, perfect on all of them.
I also bought a “nudge tool” just because I could. This is a 3D printed helper tool from another manufacturer. Google Scalarworks Nudge Tool. Nice sticks all, stay safe & God bless America! |

I hands down prefer the scalarworks for reasons that are already well known. The only thing that makes me nervous about it is longevity. Maybe my understanding of the mechanism is flawed, but isn’t it dependent upon spring/detent pressure to remain locked in place? How long are those springs going to last? The Geissele, by comparison, is just a cross bolt that gets torqued on and off. Maybe that concern isn’t valid. After all, the AR is dependent on springs/detents and some 40 year old guns are still going strong. It’s always in the back of my mind though... |

These 2,04s are all on pistols/SBRs. I am switching my Razor and Accupoint 1-4 w/ traingle post to 1.93 ASAP. You know your dope, you hit you targets. I HAVE FOUND ONLY BENEFITS TO HIGHER MOUNTS. They have allowed me to shoot NV much better and in my heads up, square on run and gun training, I have definitely become more able to square up when firing and increase my times. You have to get used to the cheek weld, but that did not take long. It actually feels more natural than my lower 1/3 cheek weld. I was unsure, but now I'm sold. Best of luck. I recommend making the transition, I believe you'll find it a very natural one. best regards jdd |

I have had no issues shooting my 2.04 height mount out to 400. Some people have slight parallax issues because it is slightly harder to index your face in the same spot depending on your stock and your physiology. I view this as something that can mostly be worked on with practice mounting to the new height. I actually got so used to the higher up head position that my dedicated precision guns with 1.375” mounts promptly were switched to 1.57” mounts. It just felt too unnatural to have my head lower. If you were prone for hours and your scope is a 3-18 or higher top end, I would not go for a high mount. But if it has a 1x on the bottom, there are only performance increases with higher mounting. Physiologically, 1.7, 1.93, 2.04, 1.5 on a 5/8 riser, etc Only one of those might feel “just right” compared to the others. Irregardless of which “higher” height you choose, you will have less neck strain, you will be more fluid up close, and you will gain performance after getting used to it. |

I am trying hard to find a Geissele grey Super Duty Lower but I'm having a hard time. Might need to look at other options. I have tried trading a 10-5 grey MK16 rail, all kinds of other perts, no luck. Can't find one to buy..Anyway, what is Yours? How do you like it? Thanks jdd View Quote Hey man, it's just a plain jane PSA lower that was cerakote'd in Battleship Gray by the gents at Mk3 Firearms in Las Vegas. The cerakote has held up for thousands of rounds with no issues. I recommend finding a cerakote expert in the local area and just having them paint a stripped lower of your choice. It's hard to find anything gun related right now |

My other (14.5in) is my absolute go-to rifle. Having trouble getting a good picture of it though View Quote Do you have a spacer on your VCOG? |

I am switching my Razor and Accupoint 1-4 w/ traingle post to 1.93 ASAP. You know your dope, you hit you targets. I HAVE FOUND ONLY BENEFITS TO HIGHER MOUNTS. They have allowed me to shoot NV much better and in my heads up, square on run and gun training, I have definitely become more able to square up when firing and increase my times. You have to get used to the cheek weld, but that did not take long. It actually feels more natural than my lower 1/3 cheek weld. I was unsure, but now I'm sold. Best of luck. I recommend making the transition, I believe you'll find it a very natural one. best regards jdd View Quote @M-4matus I think I will. Worst case scenario, if I don’t like it they are in vogue so I can sell a mount quickly. I can definitely relate to not wanting to cam my head down into the optic as much. |

View Quote @rbutcher I am going to try the 1.93. I THINK the mounts I have right now are 1.54. I am short (5’8”) so 2.04 might be a bit tall for me. |

I agree, LPVO- 1.93 is probably best, but I really don't think height is a factor at all. I believe that you would find that your stance would change...but I don't think a 2.04 (especially on an aimpoint or the like) would be too high for you at all. For me it was just a change in cheek weld, I believe that would be the same in your case as well. Also, once I became efficient with them, my times went down. I look at it like this. My Son is 6. He can shoot My AR Pistols, lower 1/3, 2.04, doesn't matter. His chin is his fourth point of contact. He can't shoot an AR Rifle because his arms are too short to get him into a positive "cheek weld"...On shorties, you can post off your chest if you want. So you might hold the gun differently than with a lower1/3, but your line of sight will be good, it's just that you'll have a different cheek weld. IMO! Good luck brother jdd |
