Najaf rifle meets M110(ish). Armalite AR-10T with a 24" heavy barrel, A.R.M.S. #53MVR S.I.R. System, SEI muzzle brake, and Vortex Diamondback 6-24 in A.R.M.S. rings. Scope came with the rifle for a very good price but I could not for the life of me get it to focus right, so I'll probably be replacing it      |

I don’t know if you guys heard, but have some tragic news. According to reports from gun influencers, Picatinny rails and forward grips will get you killed in the streets. Guess we might as well shut this topic down and destroy our rifles.  Even Travis Haley is calling people names for using forward grips. These guys are getting embarrassing. |

Agreed that it is embarrassing. Pic rails, vertical grips, etc... whatever works for you is what is cool. The youtubers complaining about older furniture are like fashion connoisseurs complaining about someone wearing "last year's" color. They're simply trying to convince their audience that what they have is insufficient and sell them a new product. As a civilian, I've yet to be in any kind of life-threatening conflict in my almost 40 years of being on this rock. If while out and about one day I do confront someone wanting to do me serious harm, I don't think it's going to make any difference if my ar15 at home, in the safe, has a pic rail and/or vertical grip. My bro-in-law has been a state trooper for over 20 years. Pretty sure his rifle still has plastic handguards. THE HORROR. He's fine. He's never had to use his rifle, or his sidearm for that matter, but I'll tell him the youtubes have spoken; Never put a vertical grip on his rifle unless he's ready to meet our father in heaven. |

I just use whatever looks cool even if it isn't the best. I'm sure if I was more into modern tactical shooting instead of building guns I think look cool I'd have a different opinion |
