I have a S&W M&P15OR. Under the front gas block, there appears to be two types of attachment points on the bottom. One looks like a QD style while the other is threaded. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

Just googled that model rifle, found this at S&W's site.  Is this what you're looking at?

Yes, if you can see the bottom of the block. There are two holes. One is threaded, while the other looks like a QD style attachment point. Just curious what these are used for.

Generally, there are two identical threaded holes for set screws.

Are they not the same?  Pics man, pics.

Good pic, haven't seen one of those before.

One's a QD socket, the other looks like a hole for a set screw.  Looks like they also pinned it, so that's nice too.
