Anybody know if a YHM Specter Low Profile Gas Block will fit underneath a Troy Industries 10" MRF Rail System?  I am not sure on the internal dimensions of the Troy rail system.

    Thanks,

I'm 99.999999% sure that it will not fit because the top section needs to be just large enough for the gas tube and nothing more.  The shaved FSB in the pic below was being used with a 10" Troy rail and would not fit until I removed more material from teh sides.

the troy block and the vltor set screw both fit correct. the vltor clamp type will rub on the clamp bolt heads. i have three troy rails and the best block to use is the troy.the other option would be to cut down a standard site base like in the post above. is this a new barrel or does it have a site base and tapper pins . if it does and you remove it the troy or viltor block will not cover the same amount of area they are smaller. also the barrel should be dimmpled at the point the set screws attach or have flats milled at that point . hope this helps.

I am planning on using a new M-4 profile barrel in conjunction with this rail.

what size rail?. if you use the 7"carbine rail you can keep the standard fsb. if not you should look at a barrel from cmmg that does not have a fsb. that way it will not have the holes from the taper pins that hold the fsb. then you can run a 9,10,12 or13.5" rail and all you need is the low pro gas block from troy .

me bad did not notice you said 10"troy. i would look for a barrel with out fsb or goto a mid length gas system with the 10" rail it still covers most of the gas block. i have two set up that way. the other plus is less recoil and wear and tear on the bolt with the mid gas system.

Do you have a picture or a link for whatever company carries the Troy gas block in stock?

Thanks,

just saw that daniel defense has a new clamp type block that is supposed to cover the marks and taper pin holes from a fsb. their are pics in the new products forum. bravo company is the one that has them . call paul at bravo and ask if it will work with a troy rail. if it will you could use any m4 barrel                                                    http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?
