Does anyone have any experience with either of these two?

I am looking for a replacement and not sure what is a good option to go with.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I would avoid anything adjustable or clamp on for reliability reasons, and big ones are heavy... I bought a VLTOR today, its good and about 1.5 ounces.

Thanks for the input. I do not want something that is low profile and the Vltor Sight Tower is $225; I am looking closer to the $100 range. I agree that clamp and adjustable blocks are probably not the way to go, but I am not sure what a good alternative product would be.

I guess the better question would be: Who makes a good pined gas block with a rail?

Does your barrel not have a front sight base pinned to it already?  If it does, leave it.  Those two you linked to are crappy.

Yes, the barrel already does have a front sight base pinned. I want to remove it because I have a scope on the flattop, and I would like to replace it with a railed gas block for BUIS.

I don't see a problem with clamp-on or set screw gas blocks.....as long as your sights are not mounted on it. I have lots of them. If they are installed correctly, I never have a problem.

I was planning on mounting some BUIS...

I use a JP adjustable and love it.  Once you set it up, the rifle runs better than ever.  Easy to do, and makes a nice professional job of it.

Is the JP similar to the one I have linked above?

No good way to do that in your price range.
