I use vise grips to put most roll pins in, the technique is descibed in Fal's BIY sticky. Assemble your own AR15 from parts.... |

Roll pin starter punches. Imagine a regular punch that's about 3x the diameter of the pin. Now drill a hole in the end that's about 0.005" oversize for the pin. Drill this hole about half the length of the pin. In use, the punch aligns the pin and lets you drive the pin half-way into the hole. After that, a regular rol-pin punch will seat it flush. |
