| Which gas block is more reliable, the clamp on one with screws or the kind you have to press on? I'm looking to get a low profile gas block, thinking about a YHM |

Quoted:
The reliability will be in how well you installed it. The Yankee Hill block will do the job. This. The ones that can be taper pinned will not come loose. But, on that same token, when installed PROPERLY, the ones that use the set screws can be just as reliable. Having a barrel that is dimpled for a set screw will definately aid in not allowing the gas block to fail. I use a YHM ow-pro on a BCM barrel (pretty sure they all come dimpled if purchased seperately) and have had ZERO issues. Ensure the threads are as clean as you can get them and use RED loctite. Don't over tighten them to the point that they strip out (thats really tight!) and you should be GTG! |
