| I would recommend removing that upper ASAP and doing some research on your local/federal gun laws. Not trying to be a dick but you basically have an SBR in possesion and could face up to 10 years in prison and $250k in fines. Minimum barrel length for a rifle is 16", anything less is considered a short barreled rifle. |
| Really? I had no idea. I'm looking up CT gun laws and The only actual CT state law that I know concerning barrel length is Ch. 529 Sec. 29-27, which states that any firearm with a barrel less than 12 inches is classified as a pistol or revolver. THANKS FOR THE CONCERN THO. I'm gonna keep looking around. Ill get a new barrel if that one is illegal. |

Hi all,
This is my first reply to a post, I’ve been lurking for a few months and this one got my attention. I'm also in Connecticut like the OP. In CT flash hiders or suppressors are on the list of "evil features" and therefore illegal. A compensator or muzzle brake is good to go but must be permanently installed using a method such as pinning and welding. Give a call to the guys at JoJo's Gunworks in Southington they are "Stag Guys" and should be able to help you out. Please refer to the following: http://www.jud.ct.gov/lawlib/Law/firearms.htm Good luck with your project. |

That's a 16. You're perfectly legal. Apparently some people here don't bother looking at the picture you posted. |
