I'm working on my first build and wanted to know how hard it should be to get the gas block on the barrel. It is the right size, but it's giving me fits trying to get it to go on enough to match the hole. Any tricks to it?

Be more specific with the problem such as what type of gas block.
Even better to post pictures.

Does it have setscrews that are not un-screwed enough?
Has the barrel been painted?
Are there burrs from the old front sight base pins?
Is there literally an interference fit where the gas block is smaller than the barrel?

They usually slide right on unless one of the situations above is the problem.
