I'm planning on ordering a barrel and want to install a low-pro gas block (still undeicided as to which one). Since most low-pro gas block use set screws to secure, I would like to order the barrel with dimples for the gas block installation. Is there an industry standard for the dimensions/location of the set screw holes? Or will I need to first determine which gas block I intend on using, then make the call? |

The dimple will usually be 180 degrees from the gas port. There is usually a setscrew installed there because they have ti drill that hole anyways to make the gas passage in the gas block between the barrel and gas tube. You only NEED one dimple so that's going to be the most universal location. Who are you ordering a barrel from that will give you the option of having a dimple put on the barrel? |
