| I put on low gas block now my ar 15 is single shot. I have carbon coming out of forward hole around gas tube. Is there suppose to be some sort of rubber bushing around the tube for tight seal. Also the inside of the low gas block hole looks like it was blown out bigger than a cyclindrical hole. Not shure if the hole is proper diameter. What am I to do now? Also, someone told me the "redrill" the gas port in the barrel to allow more gas coming through. Is this recommended? |
| The hole in the gas block is huge. the hole in the barrel is only 1/32. I'm sure I have it lined up right as I'm getting some recycling but it's not enough. I think I'm loosing pressure from around where the tube goes into the block the reason I wondered about the rubber O rings. The gas tube looks like there should be one in there since it is slotted. ????? Could the spring be too tight. Also, the bolt seems to rub on the hammer too tight on pull back. Not sure if there should be that much fiction. |

Pull the gas block, and then the rear set screw from the block. Look threw the rear set screw threaded section and confirm that the gas tube, and the gas port passage line up. In not, enlarge the gas tube side hole to align with the block passage. Next make a line on top of the barrel shoulder of the barrel dead center of barrel port, then mic the barrel shoulder to barrel port, then the gas block port to back edge. On some gas blocks, you need to hold the block off the barrel shoulder to get the passages to line up. And, the line you made will be the center of the gas tube sticking out of the gas block (forget about center of upper receiver). Do not enlarge the barrel gas port!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
