So I went to the range this weekend and shot 330 rounds through my gas piston ar 15.  I have a stag arms 3h that I installed an Adams Arms gas piston on.  I have taken it out 3 times before and always cleaned it after use.   This time though was different my ar seemed to have more kick and then after firing the 330 round my magpul moe handguards proceeded to melt at the ring near the gas block.  once i got home and opened up the rifle there was powder all over the BCG, chamber, lower and the buffer.  Anyone have any insite?

Pictures please. In most piston kit handle guards, they have aluminum shields.
Burnt powder discharged is normal.

Did you check to make sure the gas block is on tight? They can loosen up. It may have loosened and not sealing properly, thus spewing gas out from block/barrel seal?
