| Anyone ever have a gas tube where the pin holes in the gas tube were just short of the pin holes in the FSB? And what did you do about it? I have tried three different gas tubes with same results. |

I would use a file, and take a little bit of material off the end of the gas tube that has the plug in it (the FSB end). Take a couple swipes with the file, and do a trial fit. Repeat as neccessary. If the hole alignment is close before filing, it will not take much to get things lined up. ETA: Also check for a burr in the gas tube hole in the FSB. Check visually with a light if possible. |
Probably chips after machining. You can take a drill bit a little smaller and turn it with your fingers and pull the chip's/bs out. |
+1 I’ve ran into that problem myself. Either a burr in the FSB or a burr on the gas tube it self. A little coercing and the gas tube “popped” right past the burr and the roll pin hole lined up! |
