Has anybody noticed a difference between different brands of gas tubes.  I noticed on most of the gun websites the cheap ones are in stock (im looking for a mid length) and the expensive ones are out.  Should i wait and buy a good one or are they pretty much the same?? Thanks

Gas tubes are pretty much gas tubes, the more expensive ones for most part just have a name on them and maybe a special coating. You should be fine with a cheap one, just read comments about them, if they are mostly positive, go for it! Beggars can't be choosers in this market. If your heart is set on a more expensive one either backorder one or go on a waiting list. Check rainier arms.com if you haven't done so already.

gas tubes are gas tube.  Unless, they are melonited or using special alloys (pay a bit more), gas tubes are gas tubes.

Only difference I've noticed is some come with the roll pin and some don't.

Since there are differences between other parts from different manufacturers it stands to reason there could be differences with gas tubes also.
I have seen posts that showed what appeared to differences in length between ‘standard’ tubes.
I only buy from suppliers that I know are good and I have not seen anything that caught my eye

There is no "standard" gas tube length.

There's pistol, carbine, mid, rifle, and noveske/vltor's intermediate.

this is only for AR15's. 308AR's are different.

There is a standardized length for the tubes that go with the different gas systems.
