Cerberus Capital Management (the capital management group that bought Chrylser from DaimlerChrysler)bought Bushmaster in 4/06 and Remington in 4/07. August 07 Busmaster then acquired Cobb Manufacturing. They buy companies that are struggling and tries to turn them into profittable businesses. Hence Remington (Bushmaster) rifles.

Bushmaster was acquired by the same company which owns Remington, this is no shocker in the least.
While I am sure it will be just like any other AR from Bushie, I still want to check it out at SHOT in Feb 08.

"Modular Repeating Rifles", haha!  That's funny.  Let's PC the hell out of the AR15 why don't we.  I mean, it really is a modular repeating rifle of course, but I hate PC shit.

If it would keep it off the BAD AWB list then - yeah - It's a Modular Repeating Rifle not one of THOSE OTHER BAD guns!!

The more exposure the AR gets to "traditional" audiences the better.

EXACTLY!  Why all the hate directed at Remington?  This can only be a good thing.

I agree.

I think the more the "larger" more "established" makers bring out their own ARs or for example Ruger carrying a Mini 14 in 6.8, is all to the good.

Helps cement the platform in the hunting industry.... too bad some of us have had the smarts to have been using them for quite some time (most of us on this site who hunt did anyway)....
