Are the any negative ramifications with replacing the factory trigger spring on the Geissele Hi-Speed Service grade with the trigger spring of a RRA NM in order to reduce first stage pull weight? If this is a permissible solution, I'd rather not bend the Geissele factory spring to accomplish the first stage reduction.

Anyone tried this?

Did you contact Geissele?
Call Direct: 610-272-2060

As I remember the only difference between the Match, Service, and DMR triggers are the springs that affect pull weight.

You could also contact Steve from ADCO regarding Geissele Triggers.

Hope this info helps.

No advice, just a question.  What's your aversion to bending the spring?

No aversion, really. Just that I have a great deal of time with the RRA NM's and am very accustomed to their 1st stage. I'm not certain I want to try to manipulate the Geissele factory to replicate that of the RRA. Since I have a couple spare RRA springs available, I wondered if it would be acceptable to simply change it out.

You want less than the 1 pound pull it already has?  Or do you even have the match Geissele trigger spring installed?

I have the Service rifle spring, ( 4-5lbs 1st stage ) not the Match.

I believe the RRA NM spring will reduce the 1st stage to roughly half that of the factory Service model spring.

no problem, do it all the time.  I bend all the trigger springs in Service rifle triggers I install to make weight.

Thank you.

I was hoping this modification would be an acceptable alternative to bending the spring.
