I am having some problems with my Geissele trigger that I have installed in my DPMS LR308. The first stage seems to be pretty inconsistent. At times, it is good, then other times it seems to "catch" on something. The second stage also changes, and seems nice and light at times, then other times seems to be heavy. I have filed the safety slot down where it appeared to have been rubbing. Did I not file enough? Would this cause a problem with the second stage as well?

Check where the bottom of the trigger bow comes close to the trigger guard.  (The bow is where you put your finger).

The DPMS 308 rifles have a machined in trigger guard that is flat and it sometimes sits so high that the bow hits it.  Solution is to take a little bit off the bottom of the trigger bow with a bench grinder.

Make sure the safety has enough clearance as the LR308s always push the safety over to one side a lot.

It was the safety. I borrowed a Dremel from someone, and after shaving off a little more, it works great. Thanks.
