I have a SSA-E on a 14.5" rifle and love it, it's the best AR trigger I've ever used.  I just picked up my 18" SPR rifle with a SSA-E trigger, and the 2nd stage is noticeably heavier than my other SSA-E.  It almost feels like what I would expect from a SSA trigger.  Are these triggers adjustable or tunable in any way?  Any ideas on what could cause this?

That does sound odd, do you have something you can test the pull weight with?

Definitely NOT trying to be a smart ass here, but that's why you buy the DMR trigger.  It has second stage adjustment, where the SSA-E does not.  The DMR pretty well gives you total trigger adjustment, and IMHO it is well worth the extra $ 50.00.  You can adjust the DMR about any way you want it.

I've got DMR's in 3 of my AR's, and if I had the $$ they'd be in all of them.  Please take these comments in the spirit they're intended, just trying to give you another option, and trying to help.  I'll bet if you try the DMR, you'll never buy anything else.  Maybe if you watch the Giesselle on the DMR installation on You Tube it will help you make up your mind.  Very easy to adjust, so don't let that scare you off the DMR.

Best of luck,

Hammer spring could be installed wrong or bent, and no those are non adjustable.

Give Geissele a ring and they will take care of you.

Thanks for the replies.  I don't have a scale to measure the trigger pull, but like I said, I can tell a noticeable difference.  I have no way of saying how much of a difference, but the first time I pulled the trigger I could tell it was heavier.  I'll contact Geissele and see what they recommend.

Call the shop and talk to a technician.  They will walk you through some things and swap it out if necessary.

Ive noticed with some of my Geissele's that some need to be broken in a bit. i don't know how much weight difference you're talking about but if it's only a little difference i wouldn't worry about it.

Just shoot a fews hundred rounds through it and see how it feels then. if that doesn't work and it is some kind of manufacturing defect Geissele will stand by their product 100%.

Thanks guys for all the replies.  I was going to try to contact Geissele today, but we have had numerous tornados here today, so I'll try them tomorrow.
