I have what was considered a Post Ban Colt HBAR II 16" flat top AR-15.  It has the competition match barrel on it, so no flash hider or muzzle brake.  When I shoot, the muzzle flash is incredible.  I'd like to add a flash suppressor to it.  1) Now that the ban has expired, is it legal to have one installed?  2) If I can have it installed, is it legal to just get the barrel threaded and have it installed, or will it need to be permanently pinned/welded?

I was under the understanding that now that the ban expired, it is legal to have flash hiders, collapsible stocks, etc on the rifle.

If it matters, I live in Arkansas and no of no laws limiting said items in this area.

It is perfectly legal to have any barrel threaded, so long as you don't live in one of 'those' states. Since you don't, get it threaded! I'd reccommend Adco (adcofirearms.com) to do it for you...
