I bought a "mil spec" 7075 aluminum buffer tube off ebay for $15 bucks, but it seems to be out of spec...won't fit my mil-spec MFT stock.
Anyone have recommendation for another cheap, lightweight mil-spec buffer tube? If it's just going to be a basic aluminum mil spec tube I don't want to pay more than $20 for it. However I'd also be curious if there are any better upgraded buffer tubes I should consider...and I'd be willing to pay more if there is some advantage. Thanks :) |

I bought a couple of these 4 positions ones and the ones I got are fine https://www.cdnnsports.com/ar15-buffer-tube-carbine-4-position-milspec-colt.html?___SID=U#.WYz8MbpFzcs
They have a 6 position one also that I got one of and the one I got was a decent tube. |

Thanks for the suggestions guys, I'm going to try the Anderson :)

MFT stocks are known to fit really tight. A different buffer tube may make no difference. I used sandpaper on a close-fitting dowel to make mine fit. On closer inspection, this supposedly "mil spec" tube appears to be some kind of weird hybrid...it has a flat back end and raised threads relative to the tube, but then the tube diameter increases back to commercial spec diameter! |
