I want to do some more builds, I use a Spikes buffer tube in my main gun.
But are there any that are cheaper and just as good? EBay ones won't gut it.. They're very crude and don't work well with the CTR. Thanks! |
| The Palmetto Mil Spec 7075 buffer tube kit for $30 is a great deal. I have some of the Spikes buffer tubes and the PSA is very similar other than the number etching on top of the tube and the dry film coating that supposedly makes the Spikes tube slicker. My stocks fit exactly the same on both tubes. |
| I tried a couple of milspec from Brownells and Midway in the beginning but they were very loose. Not a good fit at all. I switched over to VLTOR and have only strayed once since then. A couple or three years ago I tried a BCM but it was so tight that the stock is a real PITA to use, the same stock that fits the replacement VLTOR tube perfectly. I threw the BCM buffer tube on .22 LR which I seldom shoot. I hate to sound like a VLTOR fan boy but the VLTOR receiver extensions have never let me down. Plus, the VLTORs are black, the BCM was a darkish shade of gray. I had heard so many great things about anything labeled with the BCM logo that I had to try one. One was enough. Even though the VLTORs cost a LOT more, they are worth it to me. The BCM Gunfighter CH is the bee's knees but they can keep their buffer tubes. Now if VLTOR would get their act together on the beard pulling POS EMOD stock. It took me two burns to never try them again! |

Which ones are black? The Spike's is gray I got an Anderson because it's black and it seems fine, what do you mean by it being sloppy? The PSA buffer tube is more black. I have one black Spikes buffer tube and the rest are gray. I don't like the gray color, it does not match anything. My Magpul stocks with the additional tightening lever lock up tight on the Spikes, PSA, Aero and some other random brand buffer tubes I have. |

They have computers in the lobby where you can order, then they just bring you the items and leave. :). Pearland Texas. 30 mins from me. |

Same. I stocked up on the damage tubes last time they were on sale. Quoted:

I've used the damage industries tubes in a number of builds along with their springs, they're known to have 50% off very often. Same. I stocked up on the damage tubes last time they were on sale. How is the quality on the Damage tubes? The pictures of them on their website look to have lots of machine marks on the outside of the tubes. I have quite a few of their silicon buffer springs, swivels and QD end plates. All three are well made products, was wondering about the tubes and safety selectors. I like to take advantage of their 50% sales and stock up on items from them. |

I don't understand people that charge + $50 for these things it's a brand raping........ ETA: I could not tell a difference between the Damage Kit I bought (x2) and the BCM I installed on my Rainier lower. My Magpul, B5 and Vltor stocks all locked up nice and tight on both |

I don't have anything to do with anything lower related and BCM. Their stainless barrels and KMR rails are pretty cool. I'm pretty underwhelmed with everything else they make. |

Thank you.... They have them for $17 right now. Not sure if that's 50% but still seems like a good deal. I am going to pick up a few. Going to pick up more of their enhanced springs and QD end plates as well while they are on sale. The QD end plates are only $4.02 right now which is a great deal.

| DSA has the whole setup for $30 that includes the spring and buffer DSA setup here |
| I've got a Blackhawk kit on a couple rifles that I beat on just to see if it can handle it. Threads are rough, but the tubes fit every stock I've tried. Sooooo I guess they're a good value at $35 for the complete buffer kit. They may be 6061, but I don't remember. |
