I want to put an aimpoint optic on my old XM177 AR. Can anyone suggest a descent mount?
I've seen them from $19.99 to $150, I don't want junk, but I don't want to spend too much money either...

Anyone ever shoot the one from Aim Surplus?  gooseneck

Is it a POS?

I can't speak for this particular design but the Army uses a similar design to mount the M68 aimpoint CCO.Take a look in the EE there is usually someone selling a used one.

I would look in the EE for a used Aimpoint one.  The latest Aimpoints have two locking positions rather than just one screw as the old ones did.

The one thing ARMs does right is the #39 A2plus http://www.mountsplus.com/miva/merchant.mvc?page=MSP/PROD/10_CARRY_HANDLE_MOUNT/39
Usally can find them in the EE for 1/2 the price.

More then likely another ARMS hater due to his business practices. Like the LaRue vs ARMS threads.
FWIW there are LaRue haters here too,,I'm not one,nor do I hate ARMS.
The #39 A2 plus is the only one I know of that is quick detachable. As well as having more positioning choices on the rail.
I use mine to mount my Aimpoint. Have taken it off and on,and it is "repeatable".

Beerslayer sell him  yours if you hate ARMS so much.

i stopped buying them before the lawsuit issues due to parts breaking issues as well.

that said the a2 plus is a good solid carry handle mount. mine hs been used pretty hard for over 10 years.

The ARMS gooseneck mount worked good for me. Sadly I still have the 40L. One day I can buy new stuff and get rid of the ARMS mold I have in the safe.
