I saw a YouTube video awhile back on the Noveske KX3, the guy who put up the video used something he said was to prevent the threads from sticking and ease disassembly for cleaning (said it would have to be ordered I think?).
I know he said it was a high heat material, can't recall if it was a grease or maybe Anti Seize? Would Moly work? I figured a lot of guys use the KX3 on their AR pistols, so I thought this would be an appropriate place to ask, what is nec, what do you guys use? |

I think I use Permatex brand. Never had a problem with the KX3 but I don't put a ton of ammo through it without cleaning. Also use it on pistol thread adapters for thread-on suppressors. ETA: I checked when I was in the shop. Permatex anti-seize. It says on the package that it is high temp... I'm running it on a 7.5 inch sbr. |

Still not sure why ya'll think you need to grease threads that aren't torqued down. The spring clip retains it short of being actually torqued, and it will thread right off by hand after you shoot it a bit. Got the idea from the YouTube video I mention in the OP. The guy (shooting a Sig 5.56 pistol) indicated that dis-assembly for cleaning would become difficult due to fouling, the grease was to prevent that. Pretty sure he used a high heat Anti-Seize, my concern was whether I needed something specific to get the job done (obviously not) so I could have it on hand when the time comes. |
