| I am very new to the AR world and want to hear about groups size from 16" barrels. Also, groups with regular scopes and electronic sigths. My goal is to have a rifle that will shot an inch group at 100, can it be done with a 16" barrel from a Del-Ton kit and an electronic sight, or do I need a 3x9 scope? |

Barrel length doesn't really effect accurate when using optics. A 100 yard group at 1" is completely doable with an AR but not likely with a non-magnified optic. Maybe with something like an aimpoint with magnifier or acog but that would still be really good shooting. The vast majority of rifles shoot much better than their owners. Joe |

You want 1"? You'll not be guaranteed that with a Del-Ton. Think Noveske, LMT, or even a custom shop like Adco. Then see if you can shoot that well. 16" barrels can be as accurate as any other length barrel. You see, length has nothing to do with consistency, and that is what gives tight groups. Trigger, ammo selection, and practice will do more towards accuracy than just putting on a new barrel. |
