I recently got some guat (fun show) in 20 rnd boxes that are range pickups. There are a range of headstamps from the late 80s through 98. Some rounds have primers with firing pin dimples from being chambered. There are even some marked with a TZ 80 headstamp. There is a range of corrosion from bright to a dark tarnish with some actual corroded spots. Any one seen this stuff? Where did it come from? How did it function? Should I shoot it or just send it to you? |
TZ headstamp isn't Guat, it's Israeli. Shady...what are the other headstamps? |
| I bought several cases of Guat from AIM about a year ago. The 80's stuff with IMG headstamp was perfect and shiney and was as hot as XM193. I'm very happy with the Guat ammo I purchased and only wish I would have bought more of it. I did get one case that was 91 date that wasn't quite as nice but still made some good range ammo. I paid $225 shipped for 1440 round cases of Guat. Boy, those were the days. |

I've seen this stuff lately, they are also selling .308 stuff in 100 round boxes. Same range pickup stuff. Ranges to OK looking to pretty grungy with actual corrosion thatgoes much further then the Guat discoloring. I walked as it was nothing I wanted to try to shoot in my M1As. I'm all for surp but this is just a bit to much surplus for my peace of mind. |
