Anyone running these? My biggest rifle is a LMT MWS with a Nightforce 5.5-22x56......will this fit?
If not, any other recommendations? http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00014ZYNS/ref=ox_sc_act_title_3?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER |
| I don't know....these things work decently on a bolt rifle with a scope, but I've found them to be a bit of a PITA on an AR. A lot more points on many AR's get all snagged as you take them off and on. Most all of them will stretch over an AR as long as they're large enough, but I think they work better on more bolt rifles. If I can ask, under what condition will you be using this sock?...like just for dust prevention when not in a safe or something else? |

Just for storage in the safe as an added measure of corrosion resistance (I use a goldenrod too) and too prevent needless bumps and bruises from hitting other guns. My safe doesn't have the room it used too.

| LOL!...I know what you mean about a tight safe. Socks do help a good deal for some cushion and scratch prevention. Sounds like you have already addressed corrosion. Depending on the safe construction and the location in which one lives, dust may not be as much of an issue as long as the door remains closed except for taking out and putting up guns. One thing to consider on these socks IMO is how you probably need to make sure you have scope caps or scope covers on the scopes. The impregnated silicon in the sock is usually kind of oily feeling and will leave an oily smear on the scope lens unless there's a reasonably long sun shade installed on the objective. |

Ok, good to know. My scopes would be fine but i imagine Eotechs would be susceptible. |

Midway USA makes a sock specifically for an AR-15. I have a few and they fit well.
