Are we all talking about the same stuff here? I don't doubt that all are good lubricants but are they that much better than the original ClP or Triflow? And I've always started a cleaning with Hoppes#9 then went to a good lub.

Any thoughts?

(Tempest45), I agree with what you said about the marketing of Gunzilla. If they do have a good product, the mention of Iraq could be taken in poor taste.

I don't recall commenting on that...I must be posting too much.  I do remember saying that Gunzilla and Slip 2000 make very similar claims so it may indeed be the same stuff.  I don't know that though and I have never used either product.  Gunzilla sent me an MSDS (little useful information) on the same day I requested it.  I've asked Slip 2000 for an MSDS twice with no response at all.

Strike hold is a very different type of product from the other two.  VERY similar to Eezox and G96 though.  Mostly solvent carrier with esters that form a "dry" film on the metal surface.

I have not used the latest Break free, but I did not like the late 80's version which is the last time I have dealt with it.  I have been a big FP10 and Corrosion X Aviation fan for a while, but I think the new Weapon Shield is looking to be THE answer.

I agree with Tempest45. I used to be a cleaner/lube junkie. I bought the latest Mojo whenever it came out or was written up in the rags. When George Fennell offered a sample of FP-10 on the 1911 Forum several years ago, I took him up on it & I was cured & got rid of a pile of patially used products that were taking up space on the bench.. The funny part is that I had already tried FP-10  when it was introduced by Shooters Choice as a "gun oil". FP-10 isn't perfect....I don't think any multi-use product is but it has served me well. My 1911 got a good soaking when I fell in a very deep drainage ditch during the "eye" of hurricane Jean. It was several days before I could detail strip the gun & give it a proper cleaning. There wasn't a speck of rust on it when I did.
When I saw George's Weapon Shield Post, I asked him for a sample before I found out that I missed the free sample window of opportunity. When I realized that I just went ahead and ordered a 16oz bottle. It came a few days later along with the free sample. Based on my very limited use of WS thus far shows it to be as least as good as the FP-10. George say's it's better & he ought to know. That's good enough for me.

Gunzilla Review

Just some reviews from a google search.

On a side note I have spoken with Don Kettles the owner of topduckproducts.com (Gunzilla) and he really believes in his product and from other shooters I have spoken with who use it they are very happy with the results.  It does smell much better than any other gun cleaner I've dealt with thus far.

As far as a Gunzilla marketing jingle mine would be "Helping to exterminate Insurgent's since 2006."
