| I cant decide between a model 1 sales .223 lightweight kit and the same thing from del-ton there the same price? |
| I personally would go with Del-Ton .... Model 1 has had some issues with fraudulent charges on peoples CC after they ordered from them and Del-Ton is an industry partner on this site so if you have issues with your item/order you can contact them here. |

I'm no expert when it comes to AR parts but I did spend quite some time researching stuff here and on other sites to help me build my first EBR. Here are some of my observations.
Model 1 Sales have nothing but bad reviews and talk about them. And their prices aren't even competitive enough to deal with all the crap that seems to be wrong with many of their products. Del-Ton are generally thought of as a good place to start if you're on a budget (as I was), they seem to be slammed with orders and lead times on some of their stuff can be long. You can check their industry forum. I ended up ordering an upper built by JSE Surplus with Del-Ton parts and I'm very happy with it so far. Other options are Bravo Company (BCM) who have some very well liked and decently priced uppers, but finding one in stock when you want it may be a problem. Spike's Tactical is also offering some very good and decently priced products (5% discount with arfcom code). Hope this helps a bit :) |

Since I can see that you are in NC, might want to take a look at
http://www.jsesurplus.com/custom223.aspx and http://coldhandarms.com/zencart/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=2&products_id=35 Get the same product, possibly faster than directly from Del-Ton, and best of all.. Save on the sales tax. |

I have one of their 18 inch 1:8 twist uppers, and so far im exceedingly happy with it. Del-Ton upper and Barrel and came with an RRA bolt and carrier.
It was cheap, arrived quickly, is correctly assembled and shoots fine so far. I've only shot at around 50yards with BUIS though so I can't comment on accuracy yet. You might be able to find cheaper or uppers that fit your specification better other places of course. You mentioned wanting a light weight and I think the best options there would be a Spikes lightweight (either from spike's directly or aimsurplus.com) or a BCM lightweight. |

Describe exactly what you are wanting to build, as well as intended uses, budget, and what not. Then we can better steer you in the right direction. |
