I'm putting together my new lower, and the safety selector seems WAY to big to go into to lower.  The lower is a Stag, and the parts kit is Rock River.  Is this normal, what should I do?

Define too big...  The safety selector is inserted through the reciever, not into it.  There is a large hole in the reciever.  It should slip right in.  Maybe a photograph is in order?

Definitely need more info. And as mentioned, pics would help.

I'm not sure how to post pictures, but I don't see how I could convey the problem any better through a picture eiother though.  I know how it is supposed to in (through).  I feel like I would have to use a hammer...

Measure the hole in the reciever and tell us how wide it is in millimeters.

approx. 9.5 mm

The safety should drop right into the receiver. If your safety will not drop right in it could be due to:

- Out of spec receiver.
- Tight tolerance receiver in combination with a build up of anodizing.

Anodizing alone can add a few thousands to the receiver material making some parts a tight fit.

so should i try to bang it in or should i see my gunsmith?

Do you have the hammer cocked?

yes. i just took another rifle of mine apart and the safety selector from this gun (Bushmaster) fit perfectly.  It appears that the Rock River selector in the parts kit that I ordered from PK Firearms was out of spec...

Any feed back other than contacting PK ?

This was going to be my next suggestion.  Glad you figured it out.

That's correct, which means the selector is out of spec - as you have otherwise discovered.  Contact them and have it replaced.  Easy as pie.

You DID have the hammer cocked when you tried to insert it though right?  Did it fit into the near side of the receiver or was the diameter completely wrong?

The hammer was cocked.  The diameter of the selector was completely wrong.  Thanks for the help.
