As per usual, I went on a spur of the moment range day (Arent those fun?)
I had ammo, I just always like to replace ammo, so I'll never run out ;)
I went to the sporting goods store to pick up a couple boxes and I saw HPR's Hyperclean 223 ammunition.
I wanted something to take to the range. That wasn't a total kick in the nuts (price wise)
As per usual, out of stock on most things in the store. So I picked up a few boxes of the HPR, and went shooting.
Loaded a mag of it, and squeezed a couple shots off, no issue.
Third shot, I heard a slight "poof"...followed by a sound that sounds like a fuse burning.
I kept my rifle pointed down range and removed the magazine.
Projectile didn't have enough power to really even leave the casing. Maybe just over an inch, into my barrel.
But the casing failed to eject?
I've never had an issue with feeding in any of my rifles, so it just struck me as odd.
I cleared it out with a bore brush and shot the remainder of the magazine.
Popped another one in, and about the tenth round in, I just heard a click. Not a light-strike. It just failed to go boom.
I just took the rest of the ammo home, I was done for the day...

So, not a happy customer. I reckon if I'd have fired another shot behind the lodged projectile, I'd have been in for a REAL treat.
Just sharing my two cents. I don't mean to knock anyone that swears by it. But the ammo for me, is no good.

Didn't eject because the gas never had a chance to reach the gas port on the barrel.

Good that you noticed the squib though, could have caused a lot of damage if you didn't.

"Hyperclean" because there's no powder?
