I just recently purchased my first AR. Its a Stag15 model 2. The rifle is stock other then a few bolt ons. I wanted to know what the differences are between the two buffers and which one would run better through my rifle.

I can't remember the exact weight difference between the H and H2.  I personally run a 9mm buffer in one of my carbine length gas system rifles.  It makes a significant difference in how the gun runs.  Kick doesn't  seem as brisk, but rather slowed and smoothed out.

I am running "H" in all of my carbines.  Seems to be perfect balance for handloads, hot and plinking, as well as for 5.56 and .223 factory loads.  For me I'm sticking w/ "H" in all but my 6.8SPC's.

I use the 9mm buffer in all my AR's and it works great.

H2 in my Stag 1L.  It seemed to be overgassed and was ripping up cases.  Cured the problem and makes for very smooth and controllable recoil too.

I have an H2 in my Stag and it works fine with Wolf and Federal 50gr value pack ammo.  I shot 200 rounds a few weeks ago in 20 degree weather with no problems.  Only reason I went with a H2 over a 9mm buffers is I plan on getting a M16 carrier eventually.  David
