Which is more reliable?

A BHO is not a must but, I wouldn't mind things going either way.

I might shoot 5.56 out of the rifle as well so please give me any input you can...

I just tried out my 9mm build for the first time this weekend. Mixture of Colt and RRA components other than the Hahn Dedicated block. Ran 100% through about 300 rnds of winchester 9mm.

I'd prob go for the top loader IF you want to switch back to 5.56.  You can still swap in a Colt/RRA pattern 9MM BHO if you want that feature, it would just negate the quick pull out of the block without the removal of that pin.

The benefit of the dedicated is that it uses the factory 5.56 BHO which seems to be stronger.

HTH- So far, I'm a believer in Hahn's stuff. seems top notch.

I have the OA K9 rifle and bought the Hahn top load mag well block.  It was a tad too wide and i shaved off their p/n to make it fit.  there was also some f/b play so i put several layers of masking tape on it to takeup the play.  its snug now and there is little f/b play in the mag when inserted.  i did remove the masking tape and drill/tapped 4 holes close to the corners to insert some set screws w/plastic dog points on them.  i havent had a chance to try/adjust it yet, but belive it will work.

if you want to shoot both, i would get one that can be easily swapped out, of find another lower.
