Mine came with no instructions and a small allen wrench that does not appear to fit any screws or bolts anywhere on the block. Do I just force it up into the mag well and blaze away, or is there more to it?

Look on the bottom-front of the block.
You should see a little hole were the wrench goes in to adjust the tensioning roller.
Loosen up the the roller and freely slide the block in until the mag-catch grabs it. The tighten it up.
