| I've not seen this addressed in the forum yet...is it necessary to replace the std Colt SP1 hammer with a 9mm hammer? Or, is it possible to remove some of the weight off the spur (simular to a JP low mass hammer)? |

If using an Olympic system, run what you have, Oly use a std AR carrier with a caliber specific bolt head stuck into front. If using a "Colt" clone, the bolt will look like this out of the box- So you will at least need to use a hammer that looks like this--- This a borrowed pic from joeblack, showing std Colt pattern 9mm bolt to a "ramped" Colt pattern 9mm bolt, see the ramp(blue line)?
