Over the past couple of years I have purchased several sets of "shorty" (6+") hand guards of the $15.00 variety. None of them seem to fit properly under the Delta Ring. I have tried them on several uppers and its the same thing. In general they seem too thick for the Delta Ring to slip over them properly. Am I doing something wrong? Would purchasing more expensive hand guards give be a better fit? If so, who sells a quality set of regular, "shorty (6+") hand guards? |

When the guards are new, they are very tight in the delta and front ring. Over time of removing and installing, they will wear to the new host rifle and fit fine. On hand guards, the tight fit is what you want to have. If they just dropped in, your guards would just rattle after a few removals. P.S. It helps to spray the end down with CLP to allow the parts to mate/seat. The lube will allow the ends to seat with only a little force needed the first time out. Hope this helps. Hope this helps. |
