Hello Everyone,

Looking for some input on a good quality quad (or more) hand guard to replace the stock free float hand guard on a DPMS LR-308. Would like one about 9" long, remain with a free float type mounting system and have a inside diameter large enough to fit over an Odin Works Low Profile adjustable gas block. Look forward to hearing from everyone. Thanks.

Not sure yet what will work for you, but I CAN tell you who to AVOID.

There's a new website out there calling themselves "OPTICSFACTORY.com", and they sell some unbranded (looks a LOT like what others call "Davidson" brand) rails systems.

I made the mistake of getting a 17" Free-float rail for my .308 build, it was only $69, but I should have known it would be trouble:

First, the screws that hold the handguard onto the barrel nut were too long, they hit the barrel, so I had to shave them down - not a huge problem, but keep reading...
Second, my MAGPUL PRO front sight wouldn't fit on the rail.  All of the slots cut into the rail are too narrow to allow anything to pass in the slot other than a screw.  So I had to file off some of the underside of the front sight...OK, I was unhappy, but still not too pissed.
Third, the barrel nut (which can be put on with a standard pipe wrench, similar to what Seekins uses) had to be over-tightened to line up the screws with the rail.  Also, the alignment shims they sent (paper-thin washers made of steel) were too small to fit over my Ballistic Advantage heavy barrel.  I decided to go for it and cranked it on anyway.  It sort of worked, except....
Fourth, the outside diameter of the barrel nut was now TOO BIG to allow me to put the gas tube into the receiver.  I had to gently but forcefully bend it to get it in, and then it was misaligned with my BCG.  I had to bend it AGAIN to get the BCG to fit inside the upper. and get the gas tube aligned with the gas key.

Oh, and on top of all of this, the website has NEVER RESPONDED to any of my attempts to return the product.

Any REVIEWS I've left have never been posted to the item.  I tried multiple times.

I consider this to be BAD BUSINESS practices, and I plan to never buy from them again.

Spread the word, please.

Look at Midwest Industries. They offer several quality options for quad and Mlok rails that are pretty nice for the money.

Here is my 6.5 Creedmoor build with a 15" MI Mlok rail.

That's my Bushnell XRS 4.5-30x56 FFP, 34mm tube, 10mil turrets and Horus H37 reticle. Its mounted in a Geissele Super Precision mount. Really great optic. I've decided to try a Vortex Razor II soon so unfortunately I'm gonna have to sell it on the EE soon.
