I've been swapping out parts on my primary rifle periodically since I first bought it. I've changed just about everything on it that I wish to but the handguard still bugs me a bit. I've gotten a taste of free floated handguards lately and the lockup on them is very nice. Basically I want it to feel more solid, but I want to retain my FSB. I know about the Omega rails but I really don't want to spend so much considering that I don't need the rail space, a light and maybe a VFG is all that it will ever see. Tightening the MOE would be ideal but I am open to changing it out completely Suggestions? http://i1153.photobucket.com/albums/p511/Sputnik1988/EC3A428A-E87A-4994-8A95-BD29F85FD1A5_zpsbe71fd1c.jpg ETA: I'll put up the specs just in case anyone cares. PSA "premium" lightweight 16'' middy upper: Daniel Defense BCG BCM Gunfighter CH (medium) KAC 200-600m rear sight Aimpoint PRO MOE handguard PSA blem lower: PSA "premium" LPK B5 SOPMOD stock BCM 6 position receiver extension with H buffer Noveske QD endplate BCM Gunfighter Mod. 3 grip Battle Arms Development ambi safety Magpul enhanced trigger guard Geissele SSA trigger Also has a Blue Force Gear VCAS but its not on it at the moment You aren't going to get the feel of a FF handguard without getting a rail/ tube. The Centurion Arms C4 rails are very nice, and installation is easy. If you are looking to stay pretty cheap, Midwest Industries has a solid lineup that I would trust. |

ETA: Wow, those are pricey, the DD is sounding pretty good now.

Pretty much any 9" free float handguard will fit behind a middy FSB... take your pick. BCM KMR-A would be mine. Check on Lanbo's Armory for the best prices. There are also longer ones with a middy FSB cutout, like the one posted. I tried to find a pic of a KMR9 with an FSB once, they are apparently very uncommon. |

You sir, are awesome. Thanks. |
| The C4 rails are real nice. If price is a concern, keep an eye out on the EE, they pop up from time to time. If you don't want to wait for a deal to pop up, take a look at Midwest Industries, they have some nice ff ones that can be used with the front sight like the C4. |

Look for a used Larue 9.0 on the EE. People have been dumping them for great prices in favor of the newer tubes on the market. Saw a LaRue 13" go for $180 this morning. I bought a used midlength omega rail that had everything including the box, DD sticker, DD koozie, AND an extra set of screws for $140 on the EE. Can't tell it was used. There are deals to be had if you don't mind buying used gear. If it turns out you don't like it, list it. |
