| I'm a retro newbie and I was wondering if the later A1 handguards were more matte colored as compared to the earlier slick glossy kind. I'm looking to do a retro m16a1 build but I'd like mine to be more late 70s early 80 ish. Where might I get some in new/excellent condition? |
| From what I have read the very early handguards were made of a fiberglass based material and with some use would turn very shiny. The later handguards were changed to a different material and was dull. There are always plenty of handguards on the EE, you just have to stay on top of it. |
