Edit: going with the SLR, however this has become a cool shorty thread! Now taking recommendations for this setup. It will be suppressed, but haven’t yet decided what can. 8” Geissele .300 on a BRC upper and RCA carrier. I have a 10” ALG EMR V2 available to me but don’t think this is the ticket. ALG made 8” keymods that I see for sale occasionally. (Not looking anymore) I might put a light on it but that’s it, so don’t need much “rail estate.” Also looking at some of the MI units. |
| I have all MI combat rails, including a 10.5" rail on a 10.5" barrel and an 8" rail on an 8" barrel. But I don't have suppressors to deal with. I do have Breek Arms muzzled devices with external threads, and that combo is about perfect with the flash cans that are available. |

I really like the MI Combat Rails (have an MI folder on a 10/22 chassis and an MI on a .308 AR). However after looking at cans and can diameters, I think this SLR fits the bill. Project will take a couple months, I’ll post pics when done: Attached File |

The Aero Enhanced is probably my favorite if you can still find them https://www.aeroprecisionusa.com/ar15-enhanced-mlok-handguards The 9" version would tuck just a tiny bit of the can or maybe just the mount, the 7" should clear everythting Here's my faux-integral setup with a 10" barrel / 7" can / 12" handguard  My 2nd favorite that's pretty light is just a basic magpul carbine setup  Both will only fit a can that's up to around 1.65" outer diameter though |

Thank you. Those are good looking rifles. Is one a BRN-180? While I think the Tisha or Dead Air OTBs look sweet, one would need a shorter HG and the other, I don’t have guaranteed 3” of clearance between gas block and threads… it will probably be an older Nomad with the SLR. Just got the lower together, mostly. Grip is a placeholder. Because of the angled bolt stop cut in the upper, the Radian bolt stop fits like it was made for it.Attached File |
