What upper comes with an "A " prefix on the right side in front of the rear sight?
And are they any good?

depends on who did the machining, no real way to tell

I have a Colt carry handle with this on it... and a Bushmaster A1 upper with this on it as well. Hard to tell from forge markings who made what.
