| I've taken it out to the range a few times and I've been having two problems with it first off the firing pin will hit the primer and leave a dent but the round will not go off now at first I thought it was just the ammo but it happens to ever brand of ammo I use. Next is I just shot my issued bushmaster M-4 and my M-4 side by side the only things that differ is the bushmaster has a detachable carry handle. But the M-4 I built the recoil it felt a lot greater then the bushmaster I had another shooter try it out and he said the same thing the recoil was a lot greater felt in M-4. Now I'd like to know how I can correct these two thing any adive would help. |

The firing pin is free floting in the BCG Probably your rifle has a different buffer weight than your issued rifle. |

The firing pin is not blocked or has a spring. What type of muzzle device does yours have vs the other. This is most likely the cause of recoil. Without pics, hard to say, are you sure they are the same barrel length? 16" vs 14.5" |

Probably your rifle has a different buffer weight than your issued rifle. What stocks and buffers does each rifle have? The point about the muzzle device above is also good. Did you build the upper or buy it assembled? |
| They both have the same flash hider well they look the same and about the firing pin I know it leaves a dent on the primer when you fire it the problem I'm having is that it leaves that dent on the primer but the round does not fire off. I'll pull the round out place it back in the mag reload and the round will go off. As I said this is not a every time deal and its done it with three types of ammo. |

Make sure it's installed correctly. You should be able to get a replacement at any build friendly gun shop. |

I have tried other ammo so I don't think that it is an ammunition problem. I am not the only one to experience this recoil issue. Another shooter concurs. The only difference between the issued gun and mine is that my gun doesn't have a carry handle. Any advice would be appreciated. You may get more/better answers. |

The hammer spring might be installed wrong.
Both rifles are exactly the same, aside from the carry handle right? Same stock, gas system length, barrel length, ammo used? If so, open both rifles up and look to see if there is a letter on the face of the buffers: H, H2 ,H3 (if it's black it may be a 9mm buffer). A heavier buffer can make a difference in felt recoil. It could also be the difference between well used parts(the spring especially) and a brand new parts. |
