I've been trying to find a upper receiver thats not sold out for my new build i just started. I've got a DPMS lower and picked up a BCM gunfighter charging handle. I was thinking of a Stag upper. It will mostly be for varmints and plinking with occasional bragging rights match. The only thing im set in stone about is 5.56 nato chambering. Any info will be helpful thanks in advance.

Here is a complete Stag upper if that's what you want to settle on. It's a nice upper. There are uppers in stock with a lot of dealers if you take the time to search.

First you need to narrow down which features you want to have in the upper, i.e., twist rate, free float rails or drop-in hand guards, chrome lined barrel, M4 ramps, barrel steel, flat top or carry handle, etc. I always recommend Spike's, DD, BCM, Colt, LMT & now PSA for good quality uppers and/or complete rifles.

I would like a 1:9 twist for vesitility, flat top with a fixed a2 style front sight. and be able to mount a bipod for distance shooting. I've been looking at stag and armalite and a few dpms since thats what my lower is would they be a good choice for a budget build. Each has a chromelined barrel
