I am mid way in a 6.8 mm build. I purchased an AR15Performance barrel and a Daniel Defense BGC (6.8mm bolt of course). My question is, has anybody had any issue with head space with either of these parts in their builds or both of these parts in combination? Both were highly recommended to me with little no issues by anybody. Id rather not buy the "go", "no go" gauge if I don't need to. How much should it cost if I have a gunsmith check it? Thanks for the input.

My local gun smith will check it for free. Some ranges will also check it for free before they let you on the range. If they charge it shouldn't be much.

Thanks. I gave a call to the local gunsmith that deals mostly with AR's. Was after office hours so I'll hear from him the next day. Maybe I'll talk to him about installing my barrel as well. I Have the DPMS High Top Slick upper so my upper vise block won't work on it. Unless some one has another idea????

Well I got a hold of the guy in town. To check head space, install the barrel, gas block, and gas tube, $25. Figured that is a very fair price. I might just have to see how much he charges for his FFL fees.
