Just had my .223 chamber recut to 5.56 NATO specs...will this affect the headspacing?

It is now a 5.56 and not a .223 which means a different set of headspace gages.

Having said that, the difference between the two is slight enough that it should still be fine.  The person who did the modification should have checked it, BTW.

.223 and 5.56 are different and you will need to get a 5.56 field gauge if the gunsmith did not headspace the rifle after recutting the chamber.

Can't imagine why he would not do that, but then Mr. Murphy was an optimist.
