| I searched and couldnt find any topics on hearing protection. I was curious as to what most ARFCOM members use and what works best for them. |

LOL Fail! I tell ya I searched by forums and sub forums and it turned up nothing!
Anyways thanks for the link. |
| FWIW, I ended up ordering a set of Leight Impact Sports this morning because I read too many complaints about problems with Peltor and the Leights received really good reviews on Amazon. The Leights were also priced well too. |
| The Howard Leights are the great bargain in electronic muffs. At amazon and overstock they dip into low $40s sometimes and you can almost always find them for ~$50 or so. They compare to muffs costing much more. On a tighter budget when the Caldwell low profile ones are on sale for ~$20-22 a couple times a year at midway they are decent and generally better than anything else cheaper than the Howard Leights. |

I would like to try the Surefire Earpro Sonic Defender earplugs sometime. Hell even the disposable jar of orange foam ones are better than nothing. I know someone who is almost totally def in their left ear from 1 shot with an AR with no protection |

I use foamies and GI surplus plugs which come in a handy little case.
I have a couple of sets of of Surefire Sonic Defenders that were swag but I would not pay $10-15 for them. I hate muffs. They're hot, hard on glasses and get in the way of gun stocks. That said, I have a pair of Howard Leight's and wear them doubled up with plugs at my indoor range. |
| I have a pair of the Impact Sports muffs and really like them. However, I wish that the foam padding that envelopes the ear was a little thicker. Its kinda hard to get a good solid fit behind the ear where the skull is somewhat boney. Many have complained about this and I have experienced it as well. |

I want some earmuffs like the ones in your avitar |
