Just wondering what peoples thoughts were on having a heavy barrel for an ar15? Im guessing that it comes down to what you use the rifle for (im using mine for short ranges). Does "heavey barrel" specificly refer to the weight when it is made?

Its a larger profile under the handguards, that in context to military type barrels, is useless dead weight on an AR15.
