| So I've seen the "Hellfire" trigger for $30. So would that be $30 + the (I'm assuming one time) transfer tax of $200 for whichever firearm I would be registering as a machine gun.. so then could I simply buy all the components that would make it a "machine gun" and not have to pay the government again? |
Buy yourself lunch |
You can't. Making a machine gun will land you in federal jail for 10 years with a heafty fine. If you want full auto then you have to buy a pre 86 machine gun and pay the $$$ plus 200 to own it. It's the only way. Or join the armed forces. BTW around here if you keep asking how to do illegal things you'll get a troll rep real quick and nobody will answer your questions. This isn't the place for breaking federal law.

yea, dummy.... go ahead and get you a M16 trigger pack, everybody sells them, e.g. TAPCO, then drill that third hole in your reciever, then get you a full auto sear out of ShotGun News, i think there address is P.O.B BATF, VA. then put you a silencer on the end so your neighbors won't turn you in when they hear a "machine gun" going off in their 'hood. then pack your bags and pay your lawyer. P.S. let me know total cost 'cause if it's cheap enough i may want to try it. |
The above is not going to happen unless you have a time machine. If you want a full auto ar-15/m-16 you need to do find someone that has one to sell, pay the price they want, and transfer it. The lowest price I have heard around here in KY recetly was 5500 dollars for a sendra ar15 conversion, I am told and see they run 10k or more normally. I never saw the rifle, because it was snatched before I had a chance to ask about it. If you don't want to spend thousands, be prepared to spent many years of your life and more thousands in court, jail, prison, etc. |
Unfortunately you will spend close to or over ten grand for a full auto AR due to the current laws. I suggest going to the M16 or general Class 3 forum and read, it will clarify things. This can be found in the armory. |

I don't know why some of the guys here are flaming you - you didn't ask how to do or buy something illegal! You asked an honest question, and you deserve an honest answer. As a couple guys pointed out, there is no way under current laws for you to make a full auto weapon or convert a weapon into full auto. If you want full auto, you've got to buy an existing, registered, transferable weapon, and pay the $200 transfer tax. Unfortunately, since there are a very limited number of these transferable weapons in existence, and a lot of people (like yourself) who would like to own one, the laws of supply and demand kick in, and the street value of these weapons goes through the roof (currently something like $10-15,000 for an M16). I'm not 100% sure, but I believe the cheapest full auto weapons available are the MAC 10's and MAC 11's. I haven't checked lately, but I think you might be able to get one of these for under $5000. (If I'm wrong, I'm sure that one of the flame-throwing arfcommers will quickly correct me!) |
1. The hellfire doesn't work. 2. I learned to bumpfire on a A2 20" Gov't. profile rifle. It requires the use of two hands. You will be satisfied. No need to buy anything else. 3. You will have to spend thousands to buy any lawful fully-automatic firearm. None have been made for the civilian market since 1986. Supply and demand. You could choose to do it illegally, which is much cheaper, and likely to land you in a Federal prison without your AR or lubricant. 4. Check out the class III forum for information on full-auto. |

Go down to your local USMC, USA, State ARNG Recruiter and raise your right hand.... Full-Auto with ARs is going to costs you THOUSANDS unless you get a SOT (which setting that up will cost a pretty penny itself). |
