| Joined some time ago, but this is my first post. Got my new AR a week ago, which is a CMMG MK4T. I am so far pleased with this rifle as well as the excellent customer service. It seems to be quite solid with good workmanship. No burrs or flaws as well as I can determine. I am looking to put a Nikon P223 Matte BDC on it but was wondering if you all knew if there is a scope mount that would allow me to use my Magpuls without removing the scope. I can't wait for range time. I am a former police firearms/rifle instructor. Also a former police armorer. I am currently a CNC precision machinist making medical instruments for brain and ear surgery. I am not trying to brag by any means, but just giving a little info on myself. I am confident you folks are the pros with experience in this AR platform and I am the apprentice. I really look forward to being here. Thanks in advance. |

Welcome to the posting world. Lots of good folks out here to give you solid info. My set up is similiar, but it's dedicated to the scope. Of course, I have a few more set up with RDS with magnifier (flip to side) and back up irons. Just means you need to pick up a couple more and build for other uses.

The only way to use iron sights along with the optic is to get a canted sight similar to this image I found (although this looks like an airsoft toy but you get the idea):
Otherwise the scope will have to detach before you can use it. The only way to use iron sights through the optic is to get a unlimited eye relief optic like an Aimpoint or EoTech. You can in fact get a multiplier with redots so it can be a magnified as well as do what you want. |
