So I took my new toy to the range today. CMMG Banshee 9mm with Banish 45. A few hundred flawless rounds and lots of fun. Until cleaning time. Holly crap I wasn't prepared for the mess to clean up. Mpro-7 cleaner, rags, brushes, and patches. I thought the BCG was clean until I hit it with the brass brush and it went from black to bronze. Dang it! Then I took the banish 45 apart and had a not fun time cleaning all those baffles. There has to be a better way. This is more tedious than reloading. Help! |

The last 9mm can I bought was a Rugged Obsidian 9. I took it apart before shooting it for the first time and wiped the baffles down with Danco silicone plumbers grease. I fired about 500rds and again took it apart to see how cruddy it was. The baffles were filthy but the crap wiped right off and the baffles looked new again. I now swear by the stuff.

I just spray it all over and simply wipe it off after half an hour or so. I use it all over now as a general purpose cleaner for the bore and inside the bcg. The stuff is AMAZING. I feel comfortable enough not to use a brush anymore too. It cleans amazingly if you just wait. I tried another one called wipe out, which I thought was great too but this stuff just blows it out the water, literally. I'm going to buy a new bottle as soon as this one runs out. |
