A member of my club who has done many tours in the Sand Box and still is an active duty Marine EOD Officer showed me his Surefire weapons flashlight he carried during his combat tours.
I want to build a period M4 Clone and cannot find a photo or one of these FL s for sale. I checked the knowledge base here and none are shown. His flashlight would be from the late 90's to the 2000's. It takes two SF123A batteries. It does not have a power function. It does have the common SF rear switch and pressure switch hook up at the rear. The center body unscrews so you can change batteries,or remove the rear to do the same. The center body is much thinner than the rest of the flashlight. Just behind the reflector body are two deeply machined cooling rings like a Hotchkiss machine gun barrel. He told me the FL gets hot during use. The lens is fixed focus. The center body is marked Surefire with a six digit serial number. The Flashlight is OD in color. He says it was a standard Marine Corps issue and he and all of his men had the same thing. I was not able to take any photo's,sorry. Any ideas what model this FL might be? Any for sale on the web? Thanks for your answers. |
